No! The Huawei Mate 20 Pro Does Not Surpass The P20 Pro On Dxomark

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has just passed into the hands of DxOMark experts. According to the test, the smartphone is as good in the photo as the P20 Pro, the number one ranking since its release in early 2018.

Several months after its release, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been tested by DxOMark experts. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone has an excellent rating of 109.

It shares the first place with the Huawei P20 Pro, the indestructible king of photophones. With its triple photo sensor, the Mate 20 Pro surpasses the iPhone XS Max (106), HTC U12 + (103) or Galaxy Note 9 (103).

In video, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a little worse than the P20 Pro, ensures DxOMark, in photo, he climbs to 114 points, just like the P20 Pro.

“The camera with 3 lenses provides excellent photo and video results in all situations,” explains DxoMark. The test highlights “nice colors, good exposure and a dynamic range”. The smartphone is also distinguished by its excellent zoom and rapid autofocus.

DxoMark regrets nevertheless a rendering of the textures sometimes a little artificial. Similarly, the test points out the lack of detail on faces in photos with bokeh effect.

Despite these few black spots, DxoMark does not hesitate to recommend the Mate 20 Pro to photography and video enthusiasts.

On the video side, the smartphone inherits a rating of 97 points, slightly less than the P20 Pro (98).

The laboratory particularly appreciated its very precise white balance, its low noise level and a good adaptation to the ambient light level. “Stabilization is not very effective while walking” tempers DxOMark.

Anyway, Huawei manages to impose its two flagship released in 2018 at the top of the rankings. The Chinese manufacturer proves its expertise in the field of photography and video recording.
